Carrie Newlands is a Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, and current Co- Chair of the Regional Skin Cancer Specialist Multidisciplinary Team.
She introduced the important staging technique of sentinel node biopsy for patients with head and neck melanoma to RSCH in 2014, and since then has worked closely with Kate Upshon looking after our many patients.
Carrie and Mazhar Ajaz have successfully collaborated both clinically and academically for many years. She feels lucky to be able to offer care in such an excellent team, and at a time of such major change in the possibilities for treatment, and the outlook for melanoma patients.
