We are delighted to report upon Story FMR’s Caribbean-themed BBQ on Sunday 5th August at the Gorse Hill Hotel in Woking.

It was a hot and sunny afternoon – we could have been in Barbados – but, with everyone aware of the dangers, shady spots were sought and found and sensible precautions were taken.  Conversation buzzed, and cool drinks flowed.

Thanks are due to the hotel staff, especially the chefs working over a very hot BBQ to produce delicious food; to Eugene de-Vlugt and the Caribana Steel Band, whose music filled the grounds with summery sound; to Katherine of Kate Creative for providing a lovely pottery painting studio, to many generous people who provided prizes for the raffle; and of course to all our friends and supporters who came along to make the event such an enjoyable one.

As the pictures show, a good time was had by all, and we are pleased to say that we raised £590 for Story FMR.
